Description
Foshan East Huali is located on Fuxian Road, Chancheng District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. The original name was "Wuyang Street". During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed "Donghuali". Donghuali has a total length of 112 meters. The first gate of the street still has stone carvings from the 23rd year of Daoguang (1843). The street is wide and smooth, and the granite pavement is clean and smooth. The houses on both sides of the street look like the old appearance of the Qing Dynasty. Because they have always been the residence of wealthy officials, they are very particular about the architectural form or decoration. The gatehouse is tall, with stone steps, and the gate walls are mostly made of water-milled blue bricks. The interior halls are also well-decorated, with many wood-carved screens, flower stands and partitions. The front section of the street is adjacent to each other, among which there are still buildings such as "Wu's Ancestral Hall", "Zhao's Ancestral Hall", "Zhaoyutian Temple" and Zhao's "Jingxian Hall". There are four alleys on both sides of the back section of the street. The alleys are houses with three entrances at the back of the house. They are neatly arranged and uniform in format. It's basically the same as it has been changed. Donghuali is not only Foshan, but also a relatively well-preserved town street in the Qing Dynasty in the Pearl River Delta and even the entire Guangdong Province. In 2001, it was designated as a national important cultural relics protection unit.
