Shishan is located in the middle of Nanhai District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, between 112.51'-113.15' east longitude and 22.48'-23.18' north latitude. Located in the core area of the Guangzhou-Foshan Economic Circle in the Pearl River Delta, it is the core park of Foshan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It has formed a development pattern of "Park Town Integration" with the Foshan National High-tech Zone Management Committee. It has won the national key town, national health town, Guangdong Provincial Food Safety Demonstration Town and other titles. In 2014, it ranked third among the top 100 towns with comprehensive strength in the country and first in Guangdong. In 2015, Shishan Town was approved by 11 ministries and commissions including the National Development and Reform Commission Tongzhong Office of the Central Commission and the Ministry of Public Security to become a national comprehensive pilot area for new urbanization.
