Pinghai Town, Huidong County, Huizhou City
Description
The ancient city of Pinghai was built in the 18th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1385 AD). At the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, pirates in the outer seas of Pinghai Town were rampant. In order to resist the invasion of the pirates, the Ming Taizu sent staff to build the Pinghai City. During the Kangxi period, the Daxing Mountain here also built a fort. Although the ancient city wall has been submerged in modern dwellings, and there are not many historical sites left, but walking slowly in the narrow streets, you can still feel the charm of the place.
