Located at No 5 Wenya Lane in Suzhou's Pingjiang District, the Garden of Cultivation is a small garden characteristic of the Ming Dynasty artistic style. The garden is centered around a pond and is split into a section for residences and a garden section. Built structures predominate to the north of the pond, with sights including the the Yanguang Pavilion and the Hall of Erudition and Elegance. The south of the pond is defined by mountain-esque scenery, with decorative rocks taken from Lake Tai forming miniature precipices and stone paths in a delicate and refined manner.
