Day 1
In the morning, we will first go to Tiananmen Square to enjoy the solemnity of the world's largest square, watch the flag-raising ceremony (you need to check the sunrise time in advance and arrive one hour in advance), and visit the Monument to the Heroes, Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall, the Great Hall of the People and other buildings. Duration: 1.5 hours. Walk for 15 minutes to Qianmen Street, where you can feel the flavor of old Beijing shopping street and have lunch here. Duration: 1.5 hours. After lunch, take public transportation back to the vicinity of Tiananmen Square and start the tour of the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City is a large area with many sightseeing spots, so it is recommended to do your homework in advance or follow the guide to listen to the explanation. Duration: 3 hours. From the north gate of the Forbidden City, walk for 5 minutes to Jingshan Park. Climb up Jingshan Mountain to see the panoramic view of the Forbidden City and Beijing. It takes 1 hour. If you still have the energy, you can go to the neighboring hutongs at dusk to experience the real life of Beijing.
Day 2
In the morning, visit the Temple of Heaven, entering through the South Gate and exiting through the North Gate, following the order of the Huanqiu Altar, the Echo Wall and the Hall of Prayer for the Year of the Dragon. Duration: 2.5 hours. In the afternoon, visit the Lama Temple to experience the popularity and nobility of Beijing's largest Tibetan Buddhist temple. Duration: 2 hours. An 8-minute walk to the Confucius Temple and Guozijian Museum, which is highly recommended to follow an in-house guide. Duration: 1.5 hours. In the evening, come to the Guijie neighborhood for a big meal, tasting food from all over the country and enjoying the lively nightlife. Duration: 2 hours.
Day 3
In the morning, visit the Gongwang Mansion and follow a guided tour to learn about the interesting stories and details of this residence. Duration: 2.5 hours. After lunch, go to Shichahai and visit the former residence of Soong Ching Ling, the former residence of Guo Moruo, and other small attractions, or go to Yanpaixiejie to experience the characteristics of old Beijing. Duration: 3 hours. Walk 5 minutes to Nanluoguxiang, if you are interested, you can stroll around and learn about the history of the hutongs. Duration: 1.5 hours (optional).
