#Nanshan, #Mountain, #Child, #Memory, #Adventure
My kids started their mountain climbing journey on their 45th day of life, aiming at the Nanshan Mountain in front of our house.
To me, as someone who grew up in Sichuan, Nanshan looks like a small hill. By the time my child was four and a half years old, I estimate that he must have gone up the mountain about 20 times. Initially, my child went to Nanshan to see the little turtle, and he called it “Little Turtle Mountain”. Later, because his mother promised him that if he climbed “Little Turtle Hill” ten times, he could go to the Ferris wheel, so Nanshan became the springboard to the Ferris wheel. Then there was a kiosk at the top of the mountain where he could get an ice cream for climbing up once, which became a new motivation.
The little turtle on South Mountain never changed, and every time the kid would ask him if he liked himself, I'd answer him with “asshole logic.” The kid has fallen twice on South Mountain, both on the same day, the first time he had a visual record of the fall, and then thirty minutes later he fell worse, but he quickly forgot about it. He also went to Jiu Run Mountain with a scar from his fall, and when he was just over two years old, he was brave enough to get three stitches in his left eyelid when he got hung up on a badminton racket.
Looking back on my child's experience, he was injured once climbing a mountain and went to the hospital once. In reality, it is difficult to ensure that a child is in the guardian's sight 24/7 until the age of six.
At the moment, we face a lot of fear, just like during an epidemic, danger is everywhere. But we have to find a balance between what we can pay for ourselves and the chances of being safe. Life is meant to be an adventure, and we need to try to discover as much excitement as we can, find our “balance” and live each day graciously.
Everyone has a different view on what constitutes an “exciting” day. I think pioneering like Zhang Wuji is a kind of splendor. Although Nanshan is ordinary, but every trip is looking for happiness and discovering interest, mountains and rivers have no words, heaven and earth do not speak, we are creating unique memories for ourselves, the best scenery in this world is the scenery I go to see.
