#Shanghai Museum East Branch, #Jin's Bells, #Jiangnan Creation Museum, #Cultural Relics, #Roof Garden
I have always been deeply interested in history and culture, and the East Branch of the Shanghai Museum has long been a place I eagerly anticipated visiting. Finally, I got the opportunity, and my heart was filled with excitement.
Upon entering the museum, I immediately searched for the Marquis of Jin's Bells. The 14 bells collected by the Shanghai Museum were on display, seemingly narrating ancient tales. Learning that 2 more were borrowed from the Shanxi Museum and seeing the spectacular combination of 16 bells left me in awe. Remembering a documentary where the inscriptions on the 14th and 15th bells could be connected, I was struck by the ancient wisdom and gained a deeper understanding of casting techniques and cultural heritage.
Next, I entered the Pagoda Universe Special Exhibition. A statue of Sakyamuni caught my eye, his serene face exuding peace. I learned that Sakyamuni, originally Siddhartha, the son of King Suddhodana of the Sakya tribe, practiced asceticism from a young age. After years, he achieved enlightenment under a bodhi tree in Gaya, and this statue depicted that moment. There were also many exquisite relics. The Pendant with the Dragon - and - Phoenix Pattern was beautifully crafted, the Beaded Bracelet Crystal sparkled, and the Belt Plaque with the Hollyhock Pattern showed fine workmanship. These relics from the Yuanying Pagoda Underground Palace witnessed different dynasties and their unique crafts.
Then, I visited the Jiangnan Creation Museum, a microcosm of ancient Jiangnan and Shanghai life. There were various utensils, unique animal - shaped ornaments, and charming children's images. These relics reflected daily life, beliefs, nature views, and cityscapes of the ancients. I could almost see and hear them in the market, feeling their love for life and nature.
Finally, I reached the Roof Garden. The beautiful scenery, with lush plants and colorful flowers, relaxed my mind after viewing the relics. I walked and thought about whether the ancients had such a peaceful place.
This visit to the East Branch of the Shanghai Museum was an unforgettable cultural journey. I saw precious relics, heard old stories, and felt history's weight. I look forward to returning to explore more.
