My partner and I decided to visit the "72 Tenants" Filming Base in Guangzhou on September 27, 2024. It is a part of our childhood memories and we were very much looking forward to this trip.
We learned in advance that tickets could be reserved by searching for "72 Courtyards" on WeChat, or tickets could be bought directly by queuing on site. Considering that buying tickets on site might be more convenient, we finally chose to queue on site. The ticket price is 30 yuan per person, and seniors over 70 years old, children under 1.2 meters, soldiers, and disabled people can enter for free.
The "72 Tenants" Filming Base is located at No. 345, Xingang Middle Road, Guangzhou. Before entering the base, we read the visiting precautions carefully. Because the studio is built with wooden boards, smoking and using open flames are strictly prohibited. Violators will be immediately expelled from the site and will be held legally responsible. At the same time, chasing, playing, and making noise are not allowed in the studio. Without the permission of the staff, one cannot enter unopened scenic spots or touch or move the props on site.
After entering the base, we first came to the Taiping Branch. Then we visited the home of Aunt Ba. We saw the stairs in Aunt Ba's house, where Ah Xiang often wiped the table and the handrail. We also saw Aunt Ba's princess bed and living room. Then we went to the Lidu Nightclub. There were bright red sofas, the stage where Sister Han sang, the teahouse where Uncle Bing drank morning tea, and the office of the landlady.
After that, we visited the Ruiji Tailor Shop and saw the shop of the tailor and Aunt Lan. Then we visited the shop of Dr. Jin Huimin. Finally, we came to the 72 Courtyards.
During the whole visiting process, we strictly abided by the visiting precautions. Because there were many people in the studio, we also paid great attention to our own safety and the surrounding environment. We did not smoke, chase or play, nor did we touch any props. We carefully kept our belongings and left the site after the visit ended.
This experience of visiting the "72 Tenants" Filming Base was very interesting and reminded us of the good times of our childhood. We hope that we will have the opportunity to come here again in the future and feel this unique memory.
