Half Moon Bay is located in the northeast of Weihai City, in Sunjiatuan Town, and is part of Heqing Bay. It is named because the harbor is half-moon shaped. Formerly known as Gushili, it was named because it was located between the capes of South Gushitou and North Gushitou (now called South and North Gotou). It was a fishing port in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The mouth of the bay is open to the east, with a width of about 0.6 kilometers, a water area of ​​about 0.3 square kilometers, and a water depth of less than 10 meters. There are many sandy beaches on the west bank, which is a fishing boat anchorage and a natural bathing beach.
