In the rainforest, in life, no matter how confident you are, there will always be times when you feel helpless. Just after taking two steps, you are faced with a choice again. Crossing the rainforest is not to defeat nature, but to challenge yourself, to learn the survival wisdom of nature in a primitive state. It requires wisdom, persistence, and a mentality of enjoying excitement, challenges and difficulties. You also need to adapt to the environment, know how to be in awe, and learn to bow your head, so that you can find your own answers and successfully cross the fog of life.

From the satellite map, the Little Elephant Rainforest looks like a lying baby elephant, so it is named Little Elephant Rainforest. It is about 30 kilometers away from Jinghong City, an hour's drive away.

The Elephant Rainforest is not an ordinary Attraction or a park, and there is no artificial development. As the private rainforest of the Elephant Tour, there will be no bustling tourists around you during your journey. You and your companions can enjoy this peaceful rainforest.

Since 2015, nearly 10,000 people have safely crossed the trail, ranging from four-year-olds to 70-year-old aunties who are healthy and often go hiking outdoors. It takes about 4 hours to cross the trail in the rainy season (June to October) and about 3 hours in the dry season (November to May of the following year).

To ensure your experience and protect the rainforest ecology from excessive disturbance, the Elephant Rainforest is currently limited to 100 people per day. Reservations are required in advance. Two or more people can travel alone and there will be a dedicated Guide the group. When there are more people, the Guide ratio is not less than 5:1.

The Guide of the Little Elephant Rainforest are all local villagers. They are the last generation of hunters of the Jino people. Forty years ago, the Jino people were still in the late primitive society, using slash-and-burn farming, hunting and gathering. They are indigenous people who are familiar with the rainforest. With a knife, a fire and a bag of salt, they can survive for many days in the vast rainforest.

After the trek, the rainforest dinner was served with fresh ingredients and original cooking methods. The cups, chopsticks and spoons were made from fresh bamboo on site. Many guests called it "a unique, delicious and memorable meal they have ever had in their lives" and "a feast that touched the soul". It is highly recommended and should not be missed.

In 2018, Longxiang Tourism Company, Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest Conservation Foundation and Little Elephant Future Growth Plan jointly launched the "Returning Rubber to Forests, Restoring Rainforests" public welfare project in Jinuo Township. With the Little Elephant Rainforest as the base, the project mobilized villagers to cut down the surrounding high-altitude rubber forests and replace them with diversified tree species. The foundation raised funds from the society to pay the villagers for sapling management fees. Through the "Little Elephant Journey", Longxiang Tourism Company led the villagers to develop ecological travel and achieve diversified and sustainable income growth. Crossing the Little Elephant Rainforest is an important part of it. Villagers served as Guide and chefs and earned a more relaxed and generous income.

As of 2022, a total of 503 mu of land has been restored, more than 20 species and more than 30,000 trees have been planted, and more than 900,000 management fees have been paid to 36 households participating in the project. Through tourism and agricultural product sales, the villagers' income has increased by more than 1.5 million yuan. At the beginning of 2023, rainforest crossing became a new Internet celebrity tourism project in Jinuo Township. There are 8 travel agencies and 4 or 5 village groups learning to carry out rainforest crossing, and thousands of villagers have directly benefited. We have created a new profession for young and middle-aged people of the Jinuo ethnic group.

In 2022, the Little Elephant Rainforest Trekking Project won the "Annual Ecological Protection & Community Economic Development Award" of the Voyage New Travel Sustainability Awards. The jury composed of many celebrities and experts believes that the Little Elephant Rainforest Trekking of the Little Elephant Future Growth Plan "lets people understand the rainforest, establish national cultural confidence and awareness of ecological environmental protection." "Little Elephant Rainforest" and "Little Elephant Future Growth Plan" call for the protection of endangered wild Asian elephants and explore the sustainable development of public welfare with good business support.

Protecting the rainforest means protecting ourselves.

You are welcome to join us in protecting the Little Elephant Rainforest and the tropical rainforest of Xishuangbanna through traveling, protecting the home of wild Asian elephants, and helping local people protect and pass on the wisdom and ways of survival in the rainforest that is about to disappear. In addition to the labor fee paid to the villagers on the same day, 60 yuan of the fee paid by each guest will be directly used for the protection and management of the Little Elephant Rainforest, and 5% will be donated to the Tropical Rainforest Conservation Foundation to support the public welfare cause of rainforest restoration.
