Yuelu Academy is one of the four famous academies in Chinese history. It is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain on the west bank of Changsha, Hunan. The academy has a history of over a thousand years. Zhu Xi, a Chinese philosopher, politician, and writer of the Song dynasty had taught here. Zeng Guofan, a Chinese statesman, military general, and Confucian scholar of the late Qing dynasty and Zuo Zongtang, a Chinese statesman and military leader of the late Qing dynastyhad studied here. Yuelu Academy is famous for its inventory of numerous monuments and antiques, including the works of the famous calligrapher Li Yong.
