South Putuo Temple is located adjacent to Xiamen University, so you can enjoy both sites in the same day. The temple originated was built during the Tang Dynasty and was rebuilt by the Qing Emperor Kangxi. Because like Puji Temple on Putuo Mountain it was also dedicated to Guanyin, it was given the name South Putuo Temple. It is a Buddhist temple famous in southern Fujian and even across the whole country. This place is a must visit if you wish to pray.
