Description
Ao Garden was built by Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1950. It consists of three parts: porch, monument and Kah Kee's tomb. The carvings in the park are the treasures of Fujian stone carving art, so it has the reputation of "Stone Sculpture Museum" in southern Fujian. The porch of Aoyuan is 50 meters long, and the two walls are inlaid with 58 bluestone carvings of historical figures and stories, which are the essence of 653 stone carvings in Aoyuan. Walking through the porch is the Jimei Liberation Monument. The monument is made of granite, symbolizing that China has finally achieved the victory of the people's democratic revolution after struggle. Behind the wall is the tomb of Mr. Tan Kah Kee. The tomb cover is inlaid with thirteen hexagonal blue bucket stones.
