The Songen Building, located at the bank of Lake Furong, Xiamen University, is the iconic building of the university. Songen was built in the late 20th century to express students' gratitude for the education from their alma mater. It was built by the graduates from this university and is now mainly used for teaching, research, and administrative services. The top of the building provides a panoramic view of Xiamen University.
