The Cantonese Opera Art Museum is located at No. 127, Enning Road, Liwan District, Guangzhou. The total land area of the museum is 17,200 square meters, and the building area is 21,700 square meters. It is divided into the north and south banks along the Liwan River. The south bank is the basic exhibition hall, theme exhibition hall, theater and garden Attraction, and the north bank is the supporting area for the inheritance and protection of Cantonese opera art. The museum building won the honorary award for engineering quality in China's construction industry, the "Lu Ban Award for Chinese Construction Engineering" in 2017. Cantonese opera, formerly known as Guangdong Opera, is a local opera genre popular in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hong Kong and Macau, and spread to Southeast Asia, America, Oceania, Europe and other places where Chinese and overseas Chinese live. The Cantonese Opera Art Museum aims to protect, inherit and promote Cantonese opera art. Through exhibitions, stage performances, cultural exchanges, educational services and other means, it shows the essence and charm of Cantonese opera art to the public. The theme exhibition hall covers an area of 560 square meters, and regularly hosts various special exhibitions related to Cantonese opera art; the park's antique stage, Guangfu Stage, regularly hosts Cantonese opera and Cantonese songs performances every week, dynamically displaying the artistic characteristics of Cantonese opera; the theater has 237 seats and is equipped with advanced sound, light and electricity systems. It is the most advanced and complete multi-functional Cantonese opera art performance stage in the museum.
