Description
Longjing Village, affiliated to Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the southwest of the West Lake Scenic Area, surrounded by mountains on all sides, showing a trend of high in the north and low in the south. The village has a permanent population of more than 800 people and has nearly 800 acres of alpine tea gardens. To the northwest of the village, the North Peak, Lion Peak, and Tianzhu Peak form a natural barrier to block the invasion of the northwest cold wind. To the south is Jiuxi, with a deep and wide valley, which leads directly to the Qiantang River. The southeast wind in spring and summer easily enters the valley. The ventilated geographical conditions provide unique advantages for the growth of Longjing tea. The Longjing tea produced here ranks first among "lions, dragons, clouds and tigers". According to legend, when Emperor Qianlong went to the south of the Yangtze River, he went to the Hugong Temple at the foot of Shifeng Mountain in Longjing Village to taste West Lake Longjing tea. After drinking, he was full of praise and named the eighteen tea trees in front of the temple as "Royal Tea". Longjing Village is famous all over the world for its rich production of West Lake Longjing tea. It is adjacent to Xizi Lake in the east, Wuyun Mountain in the west, the Qiantang River flowing eastward in the south, and the north-south peaks piercing into the clouds in the north. Surrounded by mountains and clouds, it is like an emerald gemstone inlaid by the West Lake. The village is rich in tourism resources, dotted with scenic spots such as Royal Tea Garden, Hugong Temple, Nine Creeks and Eighteen Streams, Shili Langpan, and Old Dragon Well, adding a strong cultural atmosphere to the tea town. The rectification project reshaped the mountain stream landscape of Longjing Village, reproduced the mountainous landscape style of the tea village where the farmers lived up the stream and chose the water, and basically restored the natural village style with the characteristics of the West Lake Longjing Tea Township.
