Small Qingdao Island, also known as Qin Island, is a small island in Qingdao Bay. Small Qingdao Island is connected to the mainland via a long sea embankment. One of the island's landmarks is a German-built lighthouse erected in 1898. The pure white lighthouse is built out of marble, and serves as an important landmark for ships navigating in and out of Jiaozhou Bay. There's a large breakwater on the north side of the island where motorboats stop. You can pay them to take you out to sea, where you appreciate views of Small Qingdao Island and Qingdao Bay.
