The Liaoning Provincial Museum is located in the southern suburbs of Shenyang. The new building was opened in May 2015. Historical art and cultural relics archaeologically excavated in the Liaoning area are the subject of the museum. The bronzes, ancient maps, painting and calligraphy works, Hongshan jade, Liao Dynasty ceramics, Ming and Qing Dynasty prints, epitaphs and ancient currency are especially distinctive.
