The Hankou Riverbank is a landmark Wuhan tourist destination that has stood witness to a large portion of Wuhan's history. On one side of the riverbank is a group of centuries-old buildings in a number of styles, including Jianghan Mansion, and the former German Consulate. On the other side of the riverbank is an open riverfront park where denizens of Wuhan can rest by the waterside. In the fall, the riverbank is covered in a thick blanket of beautiful reeds.
