The East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden is located in the Moshan Attraction of East Lake in Wuhan City, close to the East Lake Plum Garden. The cherry blossom garden has planted more than 10,000 cherry trees of 60 varieties. The cherry blossoms here are not inferior to those of Wuhan University. From the end of February to March every year, this place becomes another good place to enjoy cherry blossoms besides Wuhan University. The East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden reasonably combines the planting of early, mid-flowering and late-flowering varieties, and the flowering period can last up to 1 month.
The East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden adopts Japanese-style courtyard landscaping, with a tower imitating Japanese architecture as the center, and is equipped with Japanese garden-style lakes, islands, streams, rainbow bridges, torii, and gates. In addition, there are more than 10,000 cherry trees planted throughout the garden, making the entire cherry garden more romantic.
Various types of cherry blossoms are planted in the park, including the Yuqing weeping cherry, the Yaeberu weeping cherry, the Guanshan cherry, the Yunnan early cherry, etc., which are all treasures. This is the place with the largest and most concentrated number of weeping cherry blossoms in the country.
In the season when cherry blossoms are in full bloom, walking through the cherry blossom garden, listening to Japanese folk songs, eating Japanese snacks, and looking at these magnificent and colorful cherry blossoms falling is truly a refreshing experience.
