Description
Bailu Town is located on the northwestern part of the Chengdu Plain. It is a small town completely suffused with European style and architecture. There is a veritable array of French buildings and churches. It is an excellent place to experience exotic foreign customs. In 1860, the French missionary Annet-Théophile Pinchon brought Catholicism to Bailu Town when he chose it as the site to build a seminary. Bailu Town is a quaint village surrounded by mountains. Visitors are free to stroll along the streets, find a small café and enjoy a cup of coffee. Visitors can go to the town’s church and experience the religious atmosphere found in the cathedrals of Europe.
