Xiangshan Yacht Club is located in Xiangshan Shelter, east of Xiamen Island, in the coastal tourist area, across the sea from Little Kinmen Island. The International Conference Center and International Tennis Center are to the west of the site, Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center is to the south, and Little Kinmen, Taiwan, is directly in front of it. It is only a 10-minute drive from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. According to the planning of the Xiamen Municipal Government, Xiangshan Yacht Club makes full use of the natural ecology of Xiamen's coastal areas, complements the neighboring International Convention and Exhibition Center, International Conference Center and International Tennis Center, integrates the Souvenir environment, business and art, introduces a new yacht lifestyle to Xiamen, establishes a seaside city image with a sailing theme, and creates a real yacht city. After completion, it will become the largest yacht marina in Asia and an advanced comprehensive tourism real estate project in Xiamen that integrates leisure, fitness, tourism, office and shopping. The total investment of the project is expected to be as high as about 400 million US dollars. It is a key project of Xiamen City and the largest yacht project under construction in Asia. Xiangshan Yacht Club is being developed and constructed in two phases. The first phase includes a VIP luxury mooring park, yacht club, yacht sales training center, yacht marina and yacht supporting facilities, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2009; the second phase includes a hotel, office building and waterfront commercial street, which is expected to be completed in 2011.
