It is not only the largest sea erosion site discovered so far along the coast of Guangdong, but also one of the few well-preserved sea erosion sites in Guangdong, with very unique scientific and aesthetic value. According to the geological background and other researches, the marine erosion terrain of Huangpu Shiling Mountain was mainly formed in the middle-island period of the ancient Pearl River Estuary during the transgression before the Late Holocene.
