Chengdu
Chengdu is a city on the rise, one you will want to visit again and again. Chengdu has a long and storied history. It has a unique cuisine with a huge number of hot and spicy dishes, as well as an enviously relaxed pace of life. Historic Jinli Ancient Steet’s overpowering sense of enthralling antiquity, adorable giant pandas and avenues full of hotpot restaurants all call out to welcome visitors from near and far. On the outskirts of town, you can find quiet solace in peaceful Qingcheng Mountain. It is a vastly different side of Chengdu. Chengdu is also a fashionable city. The nightscape of Jiuyan Bridge and the nearby Kuanzhai Alley truly make people feel the fast-paced pulse of the city.
Xiamen
Xiamen is a city well suited for walking, becoming lost in thought, and basking in the sun. It has become a haven for creative, artistic people and those who want to live a more relaxed life. This "garden on the sea" has the unique feel of a hometown for Chinese living abroad. There is delicious seafood and Fujian cuisine all around, and the exotic architecture of Xiamen gives it a distinct character. Xiamen's scenic spots are mainly concentrated in the southern part of the main island and on Kulangsu. You can go to Huandao Road and go for a bike ride in the refreshing ocean breeze, or go to Xiamen University to relive the old campus life. You can also visit pedestrian-only Kulangsu to get a taste of the artist's life.
Nanjing
Nanjing was called Jinling in ancient times. This settlement was an ancient capital thousands of years ago throughout several dynasties and kingdoms, and the traces of history can be found here wherever you go. When in Nanjing, climbing atop Taicheng, a five-minute walk on top of the Nanjing Ming Dynasty City Wall, on the south bank of Xuanwu Lake. This city wall, with 600 years of history, looks east to the verdure of Zhongshan Mountain, while the blue waters of the Xuanwu Lake ripple in your gaze and the bells of the ancient Jiming Temple resound in the distance. Stroll through the beautiful Yihe Mansions area, get a cup of coffee in the renowned 1912 district, or walk beneath the colorful canopies of hundred-year-old trees in the warm sun, and history will unfold before you moment by moment. Once night falls, you can get aboard a pleasure boat and travel by night along the Qinhuai River, where enjoying the ancient beauty on the riverbanks by streetlamp is even more enchanting. All the while you can experience the beautiful setting of the poem “A Mooring on the River Qin Huai”.
Chongqing
Chongqing is renowned in China for being a "mountain city". The brilliant nightscape of the town is equally as famous. The whole city is constructed on the tall peaks, low valleys, and sloping hills of the mountainside. Many skyscrapers have an upper, middle, and lower ground level entrance. When strolling about the downtown area, visitors will find themselves walking uphill and downhill along the undulating terrain of the streets. Central Chongqing is located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. It is also one of the important Yangtze River ports. The port itself has created its own kind of local culture. It can be said that the people here are similar to their favorite hotpot meal, a bit hot and spicy, and perhaps a bit prone to fiery outbursts. Leaving central Chongqing, there is an abundance of natural and cultural sites of interest. For example, visitors can see amazing geological wonders like the Heavenly Pit—the world's deepest sinkhole. There are also ancient relics and structures at places like Baidi City or Diaoyu Fortress.
Xi'an
Xi’an City, one of the world's four great ancient cities, is famous for its role as the starting point of the Silk Road. In the past, it was previously known as Chang'an, which is a name that evokes a sense of pride in all Chinese people. Xi’an is widely regarded as the greatest city in Chinese history. During imperial dynasties such as the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang, Xi'an was the nation's capital city. The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor sits quietly on the outskirts waiting for the visitors. Big Wild Goose Pagoda offers adventure for travelers in search of traces left behind by monk Xuanzang. The towering heights of the Xi'an City Wall have many legends and stories to tell. Xi’an City's local delicacies are a must-try. There are many different types of food, all of which are completely suffused with the characteristics of northwestern China.
Shenyang
Shenyang, the capital and largest city of Liaoning Province, gives visitors an impression of great change and modernizing resilience. As the former base of the Imperial City Wall, Shenyang bore witness to the rise of the Manchu Qing Dynasty. The last four hundred years have left the people of Shenyang with a royal palace, two imperial tombs and numerous royal architectural remains. The colonnades of The Shenyang Palace Museum resemble Beijing’s Forbidden City and still give voice to the secret history of the court. Every brick in Marshal Zhang’s Mansion depicts the history of the Warlord Era. The 9.18 Historical Museum tells the story of the pain of that humiliation (also known as the Manchurian Invasion). Shengjing, as it was once known, now has more of a modern feeling. It is a major industrial center and transportation hub for Northeast Asia. The bustle and neon of Zhongjie Street, the lofty television towers, and the lively Liu Laogen Grand Stage all bear witness to the ever-changing nature of Shenyang.
