Suzhou
The beauty of Suzhou is found in all the gardens, mountains, and rivers within the city, as well as in the rich variety of ancient cultural charm and artistic atmosphere. From the numerous ancient waterside villages on the periphery of Suzhou to the Humble Administrator’s Garden, a World Heritage Site, and the Suzhou Museum, the exquisite delights of Suzhou are endless. Suzhou is located on a network of waterways and the city streets are built to follow the rivers, producing the unique style of “little bridges, flowing water and households.” The Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji’s poem, "Night Mooring at Maple Bridge", has caused tourists from ancient and modern times to flock to Maple Bridge and hear the bells of Hanshan Temple. The mountains of Lingyan, Taiping, Tianchi, and Donting West are scattered along the banks of Lake Tai outside of Gusu District and showcase the majesty of nature.
Wuhan
Wuhan is also called "River City" as the Yangtze and Han rivers separate Wuhan into three areas: Hankou, Wuchang, and Hanyang. Long ago, the modernization movement led to this place having several first-class factories. The century-old buildings of Hankou bore witness to the growing prosperity of that time. The Wuchang Uprising of 1911 here marked the establishment of the Warlord Era. Currently, Wuhan's many institutions of higher education completely suffuse the area with vitality. Optics Valley, a software park in the free-trade zone, also has become one of new Wuhan's core locations. Tanhualin Art Village and Hanyangzao Art District are two places highly unlikely to disappoint young artistic types. The cherry blossoms of Wuhan University and East Lake in the spring attract the interest of countless tourists. Reganmian (hot dry noodles) and duck's neck are both traditional local delicacies. You should not miss the opportunity to try either of them. Lounging over a rich breakfast is a good way to spend the morning and a better way to get an idea of how the people of Wuhan live.
Changsha
The innovative Xiaoxiang culture, fiery Hunan cuisine, and established entertainment industry have given Changsha a free and active atmosphere formed on a thick historical base. You can go to the Hunan Museum, Tianxin Pavilion, or Taiping Street to get a feel of Changsha's historical heritage. You can also go in search of traces of Mao Zedong at places like Orange Island and the Hunan First Normal University. Don't forget to take the opportunity to climb up Yuelu Mountain for a look at the natural scenery and the Yuelu Academy.
Guilin
Guilin is renowned for its landscape of water and mountains throughout the whole country. With clear water shimmering in the sun, the Li River is surrounded by green mountains and oddly shaped boulders. You can take a bamboo raft to enjoy the natural beauty. Guilin is also famous for Elephant Trunk Hill, Jingjiang Princes’ Palace as well as Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Spot featuring beautiful surroundings. Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Area also depicts an awesome night view. The Li River section of Yangshuo offers idyllic countryside views. You can ride a bike or go hiking here. As one of the best places for rock climbing in China, Yangshuo has attracted numerous tourists. What's more, natural terraced fields and magical caves are also worth exploring.
Beihai
The climate is especially optimum. When it refers to Beihai, sun, surf and beach first come into our minds. Silver Beach has clean, white sand while nearby Weizhou Island has magnificent natural scenery. This is a romantic seaside city. Take a stroll along the old streets and admire the combination of Chinese and Western architecture, try Cantonese dishes or Vietnamese-style snacks. Sanya
