Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden is located in Xuanwu District, and was originally called “Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Botanical Garden”. The garden is now divided into a North Park and South Park. The North Park is the older of the two, while the South Park is newer, having been built in 1999. North Park features five research departments including Ornamental Plant Research Center, Medicinal Plant Research Center, Plant Information Center, Key Laboratory of Plant Ex-situ Conservation of Jiangsu Province and the Herbarium.
