Description
Shekou is located in the southeast of Shenzhen's Nantou Peninsula, facing Shenzhen Bay to the east and mouth of the Pearl River to the west. It is one of the main routes from Shenzhen to Hong Kong and one of the most prosperous areas in Shenzhen. It is part of Shenzhen's Nanshan District and is home to an export-oriented economic development zone wholly owned and developed by China Merchants Group of Hong Kong. Shekou takes advantage of its coastal location to build seaside attractions that integrate food, drink and entertainment, including Fisherman's Wharf, a Bar Street, and Chiwan Fort.
