Description
The Hongmen Banquet Site is located on the Lishan Mountain in the south and the Wei River in the north. It is located on the main road between Tongguan and Chang'an. In front of the site is a one-kilometer-long cliff, which is cut in half like a knife in the middle. Hence the name. Legend has it that at the end of Qin Dynasty Xiang Yu and Liu Bang competed for the world. Liu Bang advanced in Guanzhong, defeated the Qin army, captured Ziying, and garrisoned Ba Shang; while the powerful Xiang Yu entered Guanzhong later and garrisoned Hongmen. In 207 BC, Xiang Yu, following the plan of his advisor Fan Zeng, held a banquet at Hongmen, trying to take the opportunity to kill Liu Bang, so he performed a scene of "Hongmen Banquet". The existing site is a modern artificial reconstruction. It is built of blue bricks. The 10-meter-high flagpole flutters the apricot-colored handsome flag. A yurt-like military tent is built on the north side of the platform. At the banquet scene at that time, the military tent was made of fiberglass, and there were statues such as "Xiangzhuang dancing the sword, Fan Kuai breaking into the tent", which vividly reproduced important scenes in the war of that year.
