The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is located along the central axis of Tiananmen Square. To the south is the Monument to the People's Heroes. The building is a memorial hall for the party's first generation of revolutionary leaders. The memorial hall is the resting place for the remains of Mao Zedong and it shows the revolution of the Chinese people under his leadership. The memorial hall has two floors. The first floor mainly houses Chairman Mao's remains. The second floor honors the revolutionary deeds of Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping, and Chen Yun.
