Description
Panjiayuan is a well-known flea market in the country. It sells various cultural relics, calligraphy and painting, the four treasures of the study, porcelain and wooden furniture. There are more than 3,000 booths. People from 24 provinces and cities across the country set up booths here, and there are many ethnic minorities here. It deals in the products of its own ethnic group, so the commodities it deals in can be said to be varied except for food. It attracts a large number of Chinese and foreign tourists every day. On the opening day of the weekend, the number of visitors reached 60,000 to 70,000, including nearly 10,000 foreign guests. Tourists of different skin colors, different languages, and different beliefs mingle here. It is also a well-known distribution center for folk handicrafts in the country, including Hengshui snuff bottles, Yangliuqing New Year pictures, Jiangsu embroidery, Dongyang wood carvings, Quyang stone carvings, Shandong shadow puppets, Jiangxi porcelain and crystal ornaments, Yixing purple sand, Shaanxi Bronze ware, clothing from Yunnan, white jade from Xinjiang, etc.
