The Today Art Museum is located in the Apple Community in the Chaoyang district of Beijing. It was established in 2002 and was the first privately-run non-profit public art museum in China. The entire structure of the art museum is novel and unusual. In order to give prominence to the works exhibited within, the entire interior is designed in white. The Today Art Museum focuses on collecting, researching and exhibiting works of Chinese modern art. Since it was established in 2002, the Today Art Museum has collected almost 1,000 key pieces of modern art of every kind. The museum's collection is made up of three sections: the Collected Works of the Today Art Museum, the Virtual Collection of the Today Art Museum, and the Donated Pieces. It includes the works of practically all modern artists.
