In the front yard there is a vine of wisteria said to have been planted by Ji Xiaolan himself. The famous Yuewei Cottage can be found at the front of the backyard. The cottage‘s layout is in the shape of an upside-down T. In the middle of the north side of the hall there is a screen, above which hung a plaque that says "The Former Site of the Yuewei Cottage," in the brushwork of the calligrapher Qi Gong.
