Black Dragon Pond Scenic Area is located in Shicheng Town in the west of Miyun District, close to Miyun Reservoir and connected to Yunmengshan Scenic Area. It is about 28 kilometers away from Miyun City, with a total area of about 1.95 million square meters, a total length of 4.5 kilometers, and a water level drop of about 220 meters. It is 100 kilometers away from Beijing. Eighteen famous pools such as Chunhua, Qiuyue, Pingsha, Luoyan, Qu, Die, Chen, and Xuantan are scattered in the deep canyon, with various shapes and styles, each leading the way, which is dazzling.
The vegetation coverage rate of Black Dragon Pond Scenic Area is over 80%, of which the forest coverage rate is 45%. It has the characteristics of novelty, strangeness and danger. It is a landscape with canyons and deep pools as its natural base and full of cultural legends. There are so many waterfalls in the eight-mile-long deep valley, which is unparalleled in the suburbs of Beijing. From beginning to end, everything is new and there is no sense of repetition. Once entering the first pool, visitors are introduced to the beautiful scenery of Qiongxian, which makes people feel relaxed and happy.
Tongtian Waterfall is vertical and steep, with a knife-like wall. The waterfall, more than 50 meters high, seems to fall from the sky, with smoke rising and filling the valley, and cold air blowing on your face. Luoyan Lake is formed by the impact of Tongtian Waterfall. The lake is wide and deep, with a water surface of more than 100 square meters and a water depth of three to four meters. In addition, the terrain is relatively open, surrounded by mountains, with green mountains and clear waters, pebbles on the river beach, and lush mountain flowers and wild grasses. In early spring or near winter, wild geese come here to live, drink water and eat, so it is called "Luoyan Lake".
The canyon is deep and all the natural scenery is interesting in its own way. The ingenious workmanship of nature has carved this canyon into a place where there are wonders within the scenery and scenery within the wonders, making it mysterious and unpredictable.
