Nanhaizi Park is one of the four major suburban parks in Beijing and the largest wetland park in Beijing. After completion, the total area exceeds 11 square kilometers. Nanhaizi Park is located in the northeast of Daxing District, south of the South Fifth Ring Road, between Daxing New Town and Yizhuang New Town. It is a major ecological project for Beijing to implement the South City Action Plan and was completed in 2012.

One fifth of Nanhai Zi Park is covered by water. It has built wetland landscapes, elk protection, leisure and other functional areas to highlight its historical and cultural characteristics and reproduce the style of former gardens. It echoes the historical and cultural landscapes of the Olympic Forest Park in northern Beijing and the Zhongcheng District, and becomes another ecological and cultural pearl on the north-south central axis of Beijing.
